this is remarkable. the story is touching, and I hope that maybe I can include something in my battalion. Please pray for connection to my boys as well as commitment from them, and buy in towards the activities we do.

Technically sure, you are correct. Are you afraid of losing your influence? Are you afraid that this merge will cause us to become less Christ-like individuals? The vibe I am getting is one that is rooted in your identity of CSB, not your identity as a Son of God. I know it’s hard, believe me. I don’t agree with this decision from a local level either.

Have we taken two or more years to pray about this merger? have we been the ones that have seen and tracked the finances and loss of groups as that has happened? I certainly haven’t kept track. Scripture says to respect your elders and the leadership over us, and to be honest, I don’t see a lot of respect and grace being given out by any of us. So I am making a choice to do what God has called me to do, regardless of the “flag” that is flown. If you feel called to leave, then leave, don’t be salty about it. If you want to stay, then DEAL WITH IT. This is happening. there is NOTHING stopping you from contacting TL leadership and trust me, I plan on doing that, and voicing your concerns.

My brigade unit has not been connected nationally since its inception. My regional director just learned my name after me being a leader for 5 years. Can I be salty about it? Sure, but THAT WON’T GET ME ANYWHERE. Embrace the struggle brother, and it will help you grow

to be honest Jim- they arent meant to “replace” CSB. TL is meant to supplement CSB, just as CSB is supplementing TL in its areas of weakness. Though this graphic sure looks like we bring much more to the table, there are going to be ways Trail Life will out do CSB, and I personally am looking forward to a broader scope of influence for the advance of the gospel.

To be honest, I dont think this graphic does much except sow discord among our leaders. Does that sound like a good thing to you? I have only been with CSB as a leader for 6 years, but leadership starts from the bottom. If you would like, I can show you a project I am bringing to the table as we go forward and contribute as leaders.

I think its hard to focus on this for our group. we have 1 senior and no juniors, and our group has been vastly disconnected from other battalions, sadly. I think this can definitely happen for our sophmore crew tho.

I wish the men of our church were this engaged to our battalion.. but it is a work in progress i guess. we are still super young (I was one of the first generations through brigade, we (re) started in the late 80s and i started brigade in 95 i think. hard to believe im on 8 years of leadership already.

I am working on incentives for our boys. I like the fishing lure idea.

There are online platforms that enable screensharing etc (such as discord) that could be great to do a movie night, stream games with each other/collaborate, and just chat. I mod 2 servers and am admin on two more of my own right now. A great thing we can do is do is large group presentations as well as some really robust organization can take place for other events (alerts can be scheduled, emails sent, etc
