Using a drill press with faster RPM’s did work. Using a hand drill just split the sticks.

All participants receive a patch – including the leaders – and the Stockaders have a chance to earn Ribbons!

This is a very good question, one in which I personally will have more guidance after our own Battalion Semi Derby in early March. The kit itself is just about 12 oz. I know some of our guys desire to make a car carrier (with cars on it), some add fenders, etc.
I do know with the tradition 5oz StocKar derby cars, wheels and weight placement is more of a factor in speed of the car than the amount of weight itself.
We do not plan on setting a weight limit our first year this year, to allow for creativity and more. I will be analyzing the results of the semi’s – and hopefully can provide more guidance on this in early March.
