We know a lot of you have been disappointed with how the current global pandemic has prevented many of the annual events we all look forward to, so we are beyond excited to announce “The Battalion 252 Challenge”!
“And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man.”
Luke 2:52 ESV
The 252 Challenge was conceived to be part personal development, part Battalion competition, and is for both young men and Leaders.
For the month of April, starting on the 1st, weekly challenges will be issued focusing on four key areas of a man’s life: Physical, Mental, Social, and Spiritual. It has been designed so that it can be completed by individuals while also counting towards the score of their Battalion – and again, both young men and Leaders are encouraged to accept the challenge.
In addition to being fun, a way to connect with others, and give some friendly competition between Battalions, The 252 Challenge is meant to challenge and grow those who take part. And many of the challenges are part of Battalion Achievements as well. The goal is to help boys grow physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually in a time where the global situation has made that difficult. Taking part in this doesn’t just give your boys something to do, but it gives them something to work towards, a common goal, and will provide a lot of fun and excitement along the way.
A new set of challenges will be issued every week in April, starting on the 1st, and ending with a big Rally – where there will be a time of fun, encouragement, and the winners will be announced. There will be 3 categories each week, with two challenges in each to choose from, but participants must complete at least one challenge from each category, each week, for a total of 12. Challenges range anywhere from sharing your testimony to cooking a meal to physical activities to building a rube goldberg machine!
For individuals who complete the challenge they will receive the 2021 patch. For those who go above and beyond and complete all 24, they will be recognized and earn extra points for their Battalion. Prizes will also be awarded to the top three Battalions with the highest final scores. (Details on scoring and full rules to come)
The past year has been a strange one and isolated many, but this is a chance to give your men something to work on, work towards, and a way to connect with other Battalion guys across all of North America. And the best part is, we are taking care of the heavy lifting, leaving just a little for you to do on your end so that this is simple and easy.
A fun event meant to stimulate personal growth and help your boys knock out Achievements, all while competing against other Battalions to win prizes! Registration is now live, make sure you sign up now before things start on the 1st!

Last month we held the first ever 252 Challenge, and it was a big hit! From rube goldberg machines to sharing their faith, young men tackled many challenges that have caused them to learn and grow.
“And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man.” Luke 2:52
For those of you who may not be familiar with the 252 Challenge, it consisted on a series of challenges every week for four weeks, with those young men and adult men having to complete three every week-and many did more than that. The challenges came from four categories for a Biblical man of God: Spiritual, Emotional, Mental, and Physical; and many of the challenges were part of Achievements. Each Battalion that took part received a score based upon how many challenges they completed and how many members of their unit who were taking part.
What resulted was a month of challenging growth, accomplishments, learning, and fellowship as everyone took up the gauntlet and shared with all of us their completions of the challenges. We had stories of challengers sharing their faith, tackling physical feats, exploring the world around them, building things, and more. They stepped up to the plate and knocked it out of the park!
Check out some of the things they had to say:
“I had a great time praying with and spending time with other guys from my Battalion and from other local Battalion’s.” Seth, Battalion #7117
“I liked being challenged to go outside my comfort zone a few times.” Sean, Battalion #3698
“We are the lone Battalion in the Carolinas – except for once a year at the Capital Region Camp-O-Rama, we rarely have an opportunity to rub shoulders with any other Units – thank you for this opportunity.” Coit, Battalion #2733
As for the results you can see the final scores below, with Battalion #6468 winning overall and the getting the top prize, $20 credit each to the Brigade Store and a Pizza Party!

The 252 Challenge will be back, so keep your eyes and ears peeled! You and your unit won’t want to miss out on the next one!

Keith, When will the 252 Challenge patch be coming out, and to whom will the patch be given?
Will the top three places of the competition be posted? Like which battalions, by church name and number and city and state would be interesting to know.
