>>>Are you afraid of losing your influence? Are you afraid that this merge will cause us to become …
1. We as local leaders have no influence to lose?!?!?
>>> The vibe I am getting is one that is rooted in your identity of CSB, not >>>your identity as a Son of God.
That’s a rather bizarre comment. Anyone from CSB that knows me knows my identity is certainly not tied into CSB since should CSB fold today the ministry my church has to boys and young men would not miss a beat and the boys would not even notice other than for regional activities.
>>>Have we taken two or more years to pray about this merger?
Do you realize when notified of this initially there was not 2 years before this was going to take place, it was going to happen near immediately.
>>>have we been the ones that have seen and tracked the finances and loss of groups as that has >>>happened? I certainly haven’t kept track.
The decision was not based on finances we were told as CSB has come off a prety good year financially.
>>>This is happening. there is NOTHING stopping you from contacting TL leadership and trust me, I >>>plan on doing that, and voicing your concerns.
Wrong. TLU leadership does not interact with local groups. That is left to volunteers who have had 0 knowledge on what is taking place and 0 knowledge on how to assist a CSB unit in making the transition. The volunteers interacting with CSB Local Leaders at their Summit did not have any knowledge of CSB or how it works.
>>>My brigade unit has not been connected nationally since its inception.
Your choice.
>>>My regional director just learned my name after me being a leader for 5 years.
How connected are you to your region?
If you are supportive of the situation or want to pursue TLU, great! I would never consider trying to change someones mind as each CSB Unit/church has to decide what is right for their ministry. Anyone that is aware of current ministry practices knows that is a church loses their gender specific boys ministry odds are they will start a co-ed ministry. In that situation, boys lose. As I said the ministry from my church is on solid ground and that will continue whether CSB is here or not. I’m involved in this dicussion to make sure those not standing on as solid a ground can continue their ministry to their boys and young men.

Respectfully, you are wrong.
The plan was announced and that I clarified and since then no announcement of any change – the weekly CSB groups will be “sunsetted” and I was told this means they will go away and no longer exist. The original plan was this would happen after a year or two. CSB units wil be expected to become Trail Life. CSB is not complimenting TLU, as of right now it is being taken over by Trail Life.
