Battalion Construction module
Posted by Dave Gregg on October 27, 2020 at 1:55 pmWe are starting the construction module and I am trying to wrap my mind around what the finished cardboard project is actually supposed to look like and how much cardboard we actually need. The current module is a bit confusing. Can anyone help?
Anyone have any suggestions on running this module?

Is this a new Battalion Mission or the old CONSTRUCTION Activity Patch from 1979? I haven’t seen the new CONSTRUCTION Mission yet, but the old Activity Patch had its templates shown at full size for the scale model – just photocopy them. The scale I believe was 1/4″ per foot.
Hey, if there is a new CONSTRUCTION Mission, I would sure like to get it.

here is the front of the PDF. it’s the module currently in the store. @petewesterman Is there a new mission for construction?

Yes, now I see it under Leader’s Guides… from Book 5. This just shows how long I’ve been doing this Patch. My dad had constructed a model of the Cape Cod house that he was building as a retirement home on the Sunshine Coast of BC back in 1980. It was a framing model showing the size and location of every stick of lumber used in the real thing. Our Battalion used it to give us a better understanding of the complexity of framing and the simplicity of construction.
So our Battalion has done CONSTRUCTION five or six times now. It is a great Patch. We followed the book and found all the details there when we needed them. They should be in the pdf. It will be nice to see it update but it’s still very valuable as it is. (So shall I PM you an updated Nomcom Notes that did a few years ago?)
