Woodworking Leaders Guide

The Woodworking Module teaches boys practical building skills while helping them understand the biblical truth of holiness—how God calls us to deal with sin and live lives set apart for Him.

Practical Purpose: Equip boys to complete a hands-on woodworking project while learning how careful work and refinement illustrate God’s process of shaping us into holy people.

Boys Will Learn:

  • Basic woodworking skills such as measuring, cutting, sanding, assembling, and finishing a simple project.

  • How mistakes in woodworking can be corrected—a picture of how God helps us confront and deal with sin.

  • That holiness means being set apart for God, growing to reflect His character in everyday life.

Projects:

  • Completing a guided woodworking project using age-appropriate tools and safe techniques.

  • Practicing precision, patience, and craftsmanship as they shape raw materials into something useful.

  • Working through Outpost Adventures Achievements that reinforce skill development and spiritual reflection.

Spiritual Goals:

  • Understand that sin needs to be identified, confessed, and removed—just like imperfections in a wood project.

  • Learn that God lovingly shapes, refines, and restores us to reflect His holiness.

  • Recognize that pursuing holiness is a daily process of letting God work in their hearts and lives.
