I started as a Den leader with the Cub Scouts when my oldest boy turned seven in 1988.  I served as a den leader for four years and Cub Master for Two years at the time when my youngest boy was becoming involved with Cubs and I maintained two roles as Cub Master and Assistant Scout Master with the BSA.  ‘When my youngest boy moved over to Boy Scouts I continued with Boy Scouts and found a replacement for the Cubs.  About a year later, the troop was having difficulties keeping boys interested so, with the help and advice from our Council Executive, I started a new Troop and chartered, as Scout Master, with seventeen boys in 1996.  After my boys turned 18 (both achieved Eagle Scout rank) I stayed with the scouts for another six years and helped a total of 14 boys attain Eagle Scout as I moved on to troop Chairman.  I maintained that role until 2013 when the BSA abandoned their moral compass and started a Trail Life USA  troop.  I maintained a leadership role in the troop for ten years, but it was not a good fit for our boys because of the expense to be involved in Trail Life.  We sought out the Christian Service Brigade and hope to maintain that ministry for as long as I can.  We have good support from the fathers of our boys (14 boys) and strive to make them knowledgeable of Scripture with a Bible lesson at the end of each meeting.
