Horsemanship Leaders Guide

The Horsemanship Mission teaches young men foundational horse-handling skills while showing them how obedience to God brings guidance, confidence, and blessing.

Practical Purpose: Equip young men with safe, hands-on horsemanship experience while developing character, confidence, and discipline.

Boys Will Learn:

  • How to understand, approach, and communicate with a horse—including grooming, tack use, and barn safety.

  • Beginner riding skills such as mounting, posture, rein control, steering, and stopping.

  • Key character qualities horses naturally teach: patience, responsibility, respect, and calm leadership.

Projects:

  • Grooming and caring for a horse: brushing, cleaning hooves, identifying anatomy, and preparing tack.

  • Practicing foundational riding skills in a controlled, supervised environment.

  • Participating in demonstrations, barn tours, and optional trail-ride or extended practice sessions.

Spiritual Goals:

  • Understand obedience to God through the picture of horse and rider—trust, direction, and willing submission.

  • See how God uses discipline and guidance to shape strong, steady young men (James 3:3; Proverbs 1:5).

  • Learn that God blesses those who listen to His voice and follow His lead (Deuteronomy 28:1; John 3:36).
