Team Sports Leaders Guide

The Team Sports Module teaches boys that just as every player has a role on a team, every believer has an important place in the Body of Christ—each gifted by God to serve and strengthen the whole.

Practical Purpose: Equip boys to understand teamwork through sports while helping them see how their God-given strengths contribute to the life and mission of the church.

Boys Will Learn:

  • That team sports rely on cooperation, communication, and each player fulfilling their unique role.

  • That God has given everyone different gifts and abilities—and all are needed in the Body of Christ.

  • How working together in both sports and church builds unity, purpose, and strength.

Projects:

  • Participating in simple team sports activities that highlight teamwork, strategy, and shared responsibility.

  • Practicing roles, positions, and group decision-making to understand how each part matters.

  • Completing Outpost Adventures Achievements that reinforce teamwork at home, in school, and in church life.

Spiritual Goals:

  • Understand the biblical truth that the church is one body with many members, each with a role to play.

  • Learn to value others’ strengths while using their own gifts to serve and build up the group.

  • Recognize that being part of God’s team means contributing, encouraging, and working together in unity.
