Marksmanship II Mission Guide

The Marksmanship II Mission Guide teaches young men honor while training them to safely handle, load, shoot, and care for muzzleloader and archery equipment.

 

Practical Purpose: Equip young men to understand and practice honor while learning the safe handling, proper use, and responsible care of muzzleloaders and archery equipment.

 

Boys Will Learn:

  • The history, parts, and ignition systems of muzzleloaders, along with safety rules and proper loading and shooting techniques.

  • Archery safety, types of bows and arrows, shooting fundamentals, and basic equipment care.

  • How honor shapes their actions, decision-making, and relationships as followers of Christ

Projects:

  • Hands-on demonstrations with muzzleloader components, safe loading practice, and cleaning techniques.

  • Archery form, stance, aiming practice, and equipment care such as waxing strings and inspecting gear.

  • Optional supervised range session for live-fire experience with muzzleloaders and various bows.

Spiritual Goals:

  • Understand that honor begins with integrity—living truthfully before God and others.

  • Learn how biblical honor applies to parents, authority, peers, and personal conduct.

  • Practice thinking on what is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, commendable, and worthy of praise.
