About three weeks ago I had open heart bypass surgery. Thank God everything went well. I also thank God for my other Battalion leaders that lead the unit was I wasn’t there.

John, Thanks so much for pointing out that the translation used for the Sentinels Outpost Adventures is the NIV rather than the ESV. This module was first produced in 2016 so that when we updated to the ESV, we missed this. When have made a note of this and it will be corrected before we do another print-run.

The First Aid Mission outline was written by former CSB leader, Mike Shaw. You will find this Mission more than a refresh, but also updated with great illustrations. Leaders, This is a great Council Ring or Story Circle and Keith has already given us an outline with the Scripture used. Tom does a great job of combining his love and knowledge of God’s Creation with his passion for CSB and discipleship. Expect to see more Council Rings and Story Circles from Alumnus, Tom Oranzi.

I agree. Dave is the real deal and his son and the young men he has invested in are partly the men they are today through Dave’s forging a deep relationship with them, all the while calling them to be the men of God we are all called to be.

Often this time of year we are informed that one or more of our leaders we thought were returning will not be serving this ministry year with the Brigade Unit.

Our first impulse might be to panic and consider not having a discipleship ministry with boys this Fall. However there is a better option.

Leaders, August is the time for preparing for the new ministry year: Goals, outings, leader recruitment, promotion, etc. As well as planning what modules or missions you will plan to use.

Also, if you have another unit within easy driving distance, plan to work on a module or mission together. Often leaders from different units has skill sets…
